DC Bishnupur Reviews Law and Order, Harvesting, and Community Welfare Initiatives
Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur, Smt. Pooja Elangbam, chaired a review meeting today at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat Complex to assess the prevailing law and order situation, ongoing harvesting activities, and other community-related matters.
The meeting was attended by Superintendent of Police Shri Th. Shangkar Deba, representatives of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), and several district-level officers.

During the discussion, emphasis was laid on maintaining security in fringe areas during the harvesting season and addressing road safety concerns, including the removal of mud and debris left by vehicles that may endanger motorists.
Highlighting the vital role of CSOs in promoting community welfare and social harmony, the DC expressed appreciation for their sustained efforts and assured continued support from the District Administration. She encouraged CSOs to remain proactive in welfare initiatives and collaborate closely with government departments.
Smt. Pooja Elangbam also informed that while dengue cases in the district remain low, preventive measures must continue. She mentioned ongoing partnerships with NGOs to support district development and invited CSOs to submit proposals for potential collaborative projects.
“Together, let us work towards building a better Bishnupur,” she said.
The meeting was also attended by ADM Shri Toijam Opendro, AC to DC Shri S. Gunamani, and other officials, including the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO).
