Ukhrul, December 7: In a significant operation conducted on the night of December 6-7, 2024, the Manipur Police arrested four individuals involved in poppy cultivation in the Khamason range of Ukhrul District. Approximately 30 acres of poppy plantations were discovered during the operation.<\/p>\n
The arrested individuals were identified as Peimi Ramsak (27), Lightson Shimrah (49), Kapangkhui Khashim, and Yatei SV (22). The police recovered one air gun and two knives from their possession.<\/p>\n

On December 7, 2024, a joint operation involving the Manipur Police, the Forest Department, and the Executive Magistrate resulted in the destruction of one acre of poppy plantation at Mao Pungdong under Mao-PS. Following the operation, the authorities initiated further actions against the village chairman of the area.<\/p>\n
