Following an appeal by the Hon\u2019ble Governor of Manipur on February 20, urging individuals to surrender illegal arms and ammunition, a significant cache of weapons and related items was handed over to the authorities in Kakching and Kangpokpi districts.<\/p>\n

At the office of the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Kakching District, one .303 rifle along with a magazine, 13 rounds of .303 ammunition, four bulletproof vests, five bulletproof plates, and four helmets were surrendered.<\/p>\n

In Kangpokpi District, at the G. Saparmeina Police Station, one looted tear gas gun was handed over to the authorities.<\/p>\n

Additionally, security forces in Kakching recovered and handed over to Kakching Police OC a large stockpile of weapons, including an INSAS rifle, a 5.6 mm caliber rifle, a 12-bore rifle, a 12-bore short gun, a 9mm pistol, an air pistol, a .303 rifle, and multiple other firearms. A substantial quantity of live rounds, including 92 rounds of 7.62 mm AK-47 ammunition, 45 rounds of 5.56 mm INSAS ammunition, and 65 rounds of .303 ammunition, was also recovered.<\/p>\n

Security forces also recovered various tactical and protective equipment, including bulletproof jackets, plates, helmets, and communication devices such as Motorola sets and charging adapters. A sum of \u20b92,50,000 in Indian currency was also recovered.<\/p>\n
