Dimapur, March 21 \u2013 Thuingaleng Muivah, General Secretary of the NSCN-IM, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to the sovereignty and unique history of Nagalim during a thanksgiving speech on the occasion of the re-affirmation and declaration of the NSCN\/GPRN (NSCN-IM) Collective Leadership. Addressing the Naga people, Muivah assured that the final political agreement with the Government of India would be based on the Amsterdam Joint Communiqu\u00e9 of July 11, 2002, and the Framework Agreement of August 3, 2015.<\/p>\n

He asserted that the Naga people would not surrender their sovereignty, whether on the battlefield or at the negotiating table. “The sovereign Nagalim national flag and constitution shall be an integral part of the political agreement. Together with the sovereign Nagalim national flag and constitution, the sovereign Nagalim territory is also non-negotiable,” Muivah declared.<\/p>\n

Muivah acknowledged the historical leaders of the Naga movement, including A.Z. Phizo, Imkongmeren, and his late comrades Isak Chishi Swu and Khadao Yanthan. He paid tribute to freedom fighters and generals such as Thinoselie M. Keyho and Captain Phungtha, who played crucial roles in Nagalim\u2019s struggle for independence.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on the early years of the movement, Muivah expressed gratitude for international support, particularly from China. “To everyone who supports the Nagalim national independence and liberation movement, I wish to reiterate that we will repay you, but in terms of victory,” he stated.<\/p>\n

He credited divine intervention for sustaining the Naga movement despite challenges, citing biblical scripture to reinforce his faith in the eventual success of their struggle. “God\u2019s sovereignty overrules all human thinking, plans, and history. In the end, we shall overcome,” he proclaimed, referencing Habakkuk 2:3 as a source of encouragement.<\/p>\n

The speech comes amid ongoing negotiations between the Government of India and the NSCN-IM, with the group emphasizing that any settlement must align with previous agreements and respect the inalienable rights of the Naga people.<\/p>\n
