BISHNUPUR, March 21, 2025 (DIO):<\/p>\n
A District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting was held today at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat, Bishnupur, to review the implementation of centrally sponsored schemes in the district. The meeting was chaired by Shri Dr. Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, Hon\u2019ble Member of Parliament (MP) for Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency and Chairperson of the DISHA Committee.<\/p>\n

Organized by the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Bishnupur, the meeting saw the participation of representatives from multiple departments including Health, Education, Panchayati Raj, Housing, Women and Child Development, Transport, and Municipal Councils. District Level Officers (DLOs) presented comprehensive updates on various schemes through detailed PowerPoint presentations.<\/p>\n

MP Dr. Bimol Akoijam emphasized the importance of transparent and efficient implementation of government schemes. He highlighted the significance of regular DISHA meetings and on-ground inspections to enhance monitoring and ensure meaningful development at the grassroots level. He urged all stakeholders to collaborate and uphold accountability in their respective departments.<\/p>\n

Deputy Commissioner Shri Lourembam Bikram provided updates on the current activities of the District Administration. He stated that Bishnupur is currently hosting around 9,500 internally displaced persons across 45 relief camps, and appreciated the role of DLOs in maintaining these camps alongside their regular duties.<\/p>\n

The DC also mentioned that with an improvement in the law-and-order situation, focus has now shifted towards the effective execution of development projects. He acknowledged the challenges posed in certain conflict-affected areas but assured that efforts are underway to support vulnerable populations, including compensations for farmers affected by the disruption in agricultural activities.<\/p>\n

MLA Thanga AC Shri T. Robindro, other elected representatives from various Assembly Constituencies, local body members, DISHA nominees, and district officers were also present during the review meeting.<\/p>\n
