The Governor of Manipur, Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, today inaugurated a newly established Dialysis Unit at Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS), Imphal. The unit, set up under the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Program (PMNDP) by the State Health Society, Manipur, is equipped with 10 hemodialysis machines. It aims to provide accessible and affordable dialysis services to patients in the state.<\/p>\n

Sumant Singh, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Health & Family Welfare, was also present during the inaugural ceremony.<\/p>\n

Following the inauguration, the Governor visited several wards in JNIMS, interacting with hospital officials and assessing the institute\u2019s overall functioning. He later held a review meeting with the Heads of Department (HODs), where various issues concerning infrastructure, staffing, and equipment were discussed. The HODs submitted a memorandum highlighting their challenges.<\/p>\n

Governor Bhalla assured the officials that their concerns would be reviewed and necessary steps taken for improvement.<\/p>\n
