A District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting for Imphal East district was convened today at the Panchayat Bhavan, Imphal East DC Office Complex, Porompat. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, Hon\u2019ble Member of Parliament for Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency and Chairperson of the DISHA Committee.<\/p>\n

Organized by the District Administration, the meeting witnessed active participation from representatives of key government departments including Education, Rural Development, Agriculture, Social Welfare, and Housing & Urban Development. Departmental officials presented updates on the implementation of centrally sponsored schemes such as PM POSHAN, PMGSY, PMAY-G, MGNREGS, and the Smart Cities Mission.<\/p>\n

In his address, Dr. Akoijam highlighted the significance of holding DISHA meetings quarterly to ensure effective monitoring and coordination of developmental projects. He acknowledged the irregularity in conducting such meetings during the financial years 2024 and 2025 and emphasized the need to restore consistency, stating that these meetings must not become mere formalities.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Calling for greater transparency and accountability, Dr. Akoijam encouraged District Level Officers (DLOs) to go beyond routine presentations and focus on the actual on-ground impact of the schemes. He also stressed the importance of grassroots monitoring and on-site inspections to better assess and improve implementation.<\/p>\n

Special focus was given to sectors like health, education, infrastructure, and livelihood development, with discussions aimed at enhancing the impact of ongoing initiatives. Dr. Akoijam urged all stakeholders to work sincerely and in coordination to bring about tangible improvements in the lives of the people.<\/p>\n

The meeting was also attended by MLA of Khundrakpam AC, Shri Th Lokeshwar, local body representatives, nominees of the DISHA committee, and other DLOs, reflecting a collective commitment towards driving the district\u2019s development forward.<\/p>\n
