Thoubal, April 21:<\/p>\n
Tension flared in Khangabok Arongthong Makhong, Thoubal District, on Sunday morning when a mob allegedly vandalized the house, shop, and foundation pillar of one Waikhom Somen, also known as Tayai, in connection with a land dispute.<\/p>\n
The incident occurred around 10:05 AM, prompting immediate police intervention. Security personnel deployed to the area used tear gas shells to disperse the agitated crowd and bring the situation under control.<\/p>\n
Senior officials, including DIG Range II Jogeshchandra Haobijam and Thoubal SP Sivanand Surve, visited the site to take stock of the damages and ensure law and order.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, both conflicting parties are currently engaged in a dialogue at the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal in a bid to resolve the matter peacefully.<\/p>\n
Police are continuing to monitor the situation closely to prevent further escalation.<\/p>\n
