New Delhi, May 6: The Indian Air Force (IAF) will conduct a large-scale military exercise in Rajasthan along the International Border with Pakistan on Wednesday night, according to a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) issued on Tuesday evening. The drills are scheduled to begin at 9:30 PM and continue until 3:00 AM on Thursday.<\/p>\n
This comes as tensions continue to escalate between India and Pakistan following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which claimed the lives of 26 people. The Union Home Ministry has directed all states to carry out preparedness drills on Wednesday in response to “new and complex threats” that have emerged in the wake of the attack.<\/p>\n
Earlier on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high-level security meeting with National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. The meeting is seen as part of India’s broader strategy to prepare for potential military responses.<\/p>\n
In a strongly worded statement following the Pahalgam attack, PM Modi vowed that the masterminds and conspirators would be pursued to the “ends of the earth” and punished in a manner “beyond their imagination.”<\/p>\n
Security has been ramped up across key installations, and intelligence agencies remain on high alert amid fears of further provocations. The upcoming IAF drill is expected to involve advanced fighter jets, surveillance aircraft, and precision strike simulations as part of the nation’s strategic readiness.<\/p>\n
