Imphal, 27 May 2025 – The People\u2019s Progressive Alliance Manipur (PPAM), along with its affiliated group Imagi Meira, has called for the resignation of 59 Members of the Manipur Legislative Assembly (MLAs), alleging a persistent failure to carry out their duties.<\/p>\n
In a press statement, PPAM accused the MLAs of \u201cabandoning their constitutional responsibilities\u201d during a time of ongoing crisis in the state. The alliance said such dereliction of duty has severely undermined public confidence in the state\u2019s democratic institutions.<\/p>\n
PPAM also criticized the Manipur Legislative Assembly Secretariat for failing to respond to repeated requests for transparency regarding MLA privileges and expenditures.
