Congress national spokesperson Dr. Shama Mohammed launched a scathing attack on the BJP on Thursday, accusing the party of prioritizing power over peace in the strife-torn state of Manipur.<\/p>\n
Referring to the prolonged ethnic violence and political instability in the region, Dr. Mohammed stated:<\/p>\n
For two years, the BJP let Manipur burn, and their CM didn\u2019t bother to resign. It was only under the pressure of the Congress-led No Confidence Motion that he stepped down \u2014 and yet, even under President\u2019s Rule, peace has not returned to Manipur.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
She further added that the BJP\u2019s renewed push for government formation, despite the ongoing turmoil, reflects a disregard for democratic accountability.<\/p>\n
Now, the BJP is once again eyeing government formation, when fresh Assembly elections appear to be the only path to restoring stability, Dr. Mohammed said.<\/span><\/p>\n
“For the BJP, power matters more than peace”.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
