Thahpi Haokip, also known as Thenkhothang or Thahpi, a commander of the Kuki National Army (KNA), was ambushed and shot dead along with two of his associates by cadres of the United Kuki National Army (UKNA) on Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n
The incident occurred in Mongjang village, located in Churachandpur district. During the attack, a woman\u2014believed to be a local resident\u2014was also fatally shot.<\/p>\n
Disturbing videos circulating on social media show the bodies of three men inside a vehicle and a woman lying on the road.<\/p>\n
Following the incident, the UKNA issued a press release claiming responsibility for the attack. The statement said that Thahpi and his companions were \u201cpunished\u201d by the UKNA.
