Imphal, Sept 21: The Teachers\u2019 and Medical Officers\u2019 Association (TAMOA), Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), has strongly condemned the recent violent assault on a senior consultant of RIMS and the spread of false allegations on social media. Expressing solidarity with the affected doctor, TAMOA termed the incident as highly unfortunate and unacceptable.<\/p>\n
In response, TAMOA has announced the suspension of all RIMS services\u2014including OPD, emergency, routine OT, and PME\u2014effective immediately, until those responsible are booked, punished, and a safe working environment is guaranteed. However, it clarified that patients already admitted will continue to receive due care and treatment.<\/p>\n
The association has also resolved to:<\/p>\n
Urge RIMS authorities to lodge an FIR against the culprits and pursue legal action.<\/p>\n
Ensure safety measures for healthcare providers within the RIMS campus.<\/p>\n
Demand a formal statement of condemnation and clarification from RIMS authorities regarding the false allegations circulating online.<\/p>\n
Call for an inquiry into the security lapses at RIMS.<\/p>\n
TAMOA stated that normal duties will resume only when a safe and conducive working environment is ensured.<\/p>\n
Copies of the resolution have been forwarded to various associations and unions within RIMS, including IMA Manipur State Branch, RDA, JDA, RIMSSU, NTEWA, and TNAI.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
