The innovation marks a first-of-its-kind study comparing tungsten, vanadium, and cobalt doping in molybdenum diselenide (MoSe\u2082) for energy storage, going beyond lab-scale research to build a working prototype.<\/p>\n<p>The study, led by Dr. Vijeth H, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, along with Ms. Pewe-u Marhu, Research Scholar, demonstrates the practical viability of the supercapacitor. The research has been published in RSC Advances, a peer-reviewed journal by the Royal Society of Chemistry.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4037\" src=\"https:\/\/ichelnewsnetwork.com\/Ichel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Dr-Vijeth-H-Assistant-Professor-Department-of-Physics-Nagaland-University-233x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"233\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis device combines flexibility, high energy storage, and durability, which are critical for future portable and wearable technologies,\u201d said Dr. Vijeth. \u201cAmong the materials tested, cobalt proved most effective. The process we used is simple, eco-friendly, and scalable for industrial adoption. This research showcases scientific excellence from the North East and strengthens India\u2019s path toward self-reliant energy solutions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4038\" src=\"https:\/\/ichelnewsnetwork.com\/Ichel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/Ms.-Pewe-u-Marhu-Research-Scholar-Department-of-Physics-Nagaland-University-169x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"169\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Ms. Marhu added that the team\u2019s next steps include optimizing the electrode\u2013electrolyte interface, improving safety using solid-state gel electrolytes, and scaling up the process for pilot-level production in collaboration with industry partners.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4040\" src=\"https:\/\/ichelnewsnetwork.com\/Ichel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/The-Flexible-Supercapacitor-developed-by-Nagaland-University-Scientists-for-Wearables-and-Electric-Vehicles-1-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The device, developed at the Advanced Materials for Device Applications (AMDA) Research Laboratory at Nagaland University\u2019s Lumami campus, utilizes cobalt-doped molybdenum diselenide (Co@MoSe\u2082), a cutting-edge two-dimensional (2D) material.
