The ongoing political uncertainty in Manipur has taken a tense turn as 25 BJP MLAs have urged BJP Northeast Coordinator Dr. Sambit Patra to recommend dissolution of the Manipur Legislative Assembly if the Central leadership continues to delay the formation of a popular government. The demand revealed the growing impatience among state legislators over the prolonged period of President\u2019s Rule, which has been in effect since the collapse of the previous government earlier this year.<\/p>\n
During a closed-door meeting held at Manipur Bhavan, Sardar Patel Marg, New Delhi, the MLAs reportedly conveyed to Dr. Patra that the political vacuum in the state has deepened public frustration, weakened administrative efficiency, and left governance paralyzed. They insisted that the party must either restore a democratic government led by a consensus BJP leader or dissolve the Assembly and pave the way for a fresh mandate.<\/p>\n
However, Dr. Patra, while acknowledging their grievances, advised caution and urged the legislators to build political consensus among all key communities Meitei, Naga, Pangal, and Kuki before any decisive move could be made.
