A six-day Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) under the Chief Minister\u2019s Entrepreneur Support Scheme (CMESS) was inaugurated today at the AIC-MTU Innovation Foundation, a Startup Manipur incubator hosted by Manipur Technical University (MTU).<\/p>\n

The programme is jointly organised by AIC-MTU Innovation Foundation and the Planning Department, Government of Manipur, with the objective of equipping selected beneficiaries with vital entrepreneurial knowledge, skills, and motivation.<\/p>\n

The inaugural function was graced by Prof. W. Chandbabu Singh, Hon\u2019ble Vice-Chancellor of MTU, as the Chief Guest, while Shri Ramananda Nongmeikappam, Registrar of MTU, presided over the event. Dr. R.K. Tombisana, Joint Director, and Shri H. Homendra Singh, Research Officer from Startup Manipur, attended as Guests of Honour.<\/p>\n

In his address, Prof. Chandbabu Singh congratulated the selected beneficiaries and underlined the importance of entrepreneurship in fostering economic growth and self-reliance in Manipur. He urged participants to adopt an innovation-driven mindset and create sustainable ventures aligned with the state\u2019s developmental needs.<\/p>\n

Presiding over the function, Shri Ramananda Nongmeikappam emphasized the vital role of academic institutions in nurturing entrepreneurial talent and reaffirmed MTU\u2019s commitment to supporting youth in transforming ideas into successful enterprises.<\/p>\n

The representatives from Startup Manipur briefed participants on various government schemes, policy frameworks, and funding opportunities available to emerging entrepreneurs, encouraging them to explore business potential in key sectors such as agriculture, technology, manufacturing, tourism, and handicrafts.<\/p>\n

During the ceremony, Shri Laishram Jimmy, CEO of AIC-MTU Innovation Foundation, provided an orientation on the six-day training curriculum, which includes sessions on business idea development, financial planning, market research, digital innovation, legal compliance, MSME schemes, and pitch-building. Participants will also benefit from hands-on workshops, mentoring, and case studies of successful entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n
