In a press release issued by the Directorate of Information and Public Relations<\/strong>, the District Tobacco Control Cell<\/strong> under the National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP)<\/strong> launched the \u201cTobacco-Free Youth Campaign 3.0<\/strong>\u201d at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner\u2019s Office, Imphal West.<\/p>\n

Deputy Commissioner Imphal West, Shri Mayanglambam Rajkumar Singh<\/strong>, formally inaugurated the campaign in the presence of the Chief Medical Officer Imphal West and other district-level officers.<\/p>\n

District Nodal Officer of the Tobacco Control Cell, Shri A. Dinesh Sharma<\/strong>, spoke on the harmful effects of tobacco and highlighted key strategies of the campaign, including enhancing public awareness, strengthening Tobacco-Free Educational Institutions (ToFEI)<\/strong>, declaring tobacco-free villages, enforcing COTPA 2003<\/strong> and PECA 2019<\/strong>, boosting social media outreach, and capacity building for tobacco control initiatives.<\/p>\n

As part of the IEC activities, a rally was flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner from the DC Office to Ram Krishna Mission School, Uripok. Participants chanted slogans such as \u201cTobacco Free Starts With Me<\/strong>,\u201d \u201cSay It Loud, Tobacco\u2019s Out<\/strong>,\u201d \u201cQuit Tobacco Today, Live Young Tomorrow<\/strong>,\u201d and \u201cTobacco Causes Cancer<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n
