The Department of Youth Affairs & Sports (YAS)<\/strong>, in collaboration with the Department of Tourism<\/strong>, Government of Manipur, today organised the Sangai Run-2025<\/strong> as a curtain-raiser to the upcoming Manipur Sangai Festival 2025.<\/p>\n

Shri N. Ashok Kumar<\/strong>, IAS, Commissioner (Home and Finance), flagged off the run from Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, Imphal. About 1,500 athletes<\/strong> took part in the event, which featured three categories: a 5 km Fun Run<\/strong><\/em>, a 10 km Fitness Run<\/em><\/strong>, and a 25 km Open & Veteran competition<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

The event was graced by senior government officials including Shri Shailesh Kumar Chourasia<\/strong>, Commissioner (Power); Shri Hungyo Worshang<\/strong>, Secretary (Tourism & IPR); Shri Naorem Praveen Singh<\/strong>, Secretary (YAS); Shri Lourembam Bikram<\/strong>, Director (Tourism); Shri M. Pradip Singh<\/strong>, DIG; Dr. Mayengbam Veto Singh<\/strong>, Director (YAS); and Shri L. Nabachandra Singh<\/strong>, Director (Fire Services).<\/p>\n

Several celebrated sportspersons of Manipur were also present, including Padma Shri awardees N. Kunjarani Devi (Weightlifting)<\/strong> and O. Bembem Devi (Football)<\/strong>; Arjuna Awardees L. Sarita (Boxing)<\/strong> and Chinglensana Kangujam (Hockey Olympian)<\/strong>; Olympian Ng. Sonia (Weightlifting)<\/strong>; and Dhyan Chand Awardee L. Anita Chanu (Weightlifting)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Athletes who completed the run were felicitated, and cash prizes and medals were awarded to the top finishers. Medals were also distributed to all participants.<\/p>\n
