{"id":5965,"date":"2025-11-26T19:01:05","date_gmt":"2025-11-26T13:31:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ichelnewsnetwork.com\/?p=5965"},"modified":"2026-01-19T05:18:33","modified_gmt":"2026-01-19T05:18:33","slug":"regional-training-on-hiv-sentinel-surveillance-launched-at-rims-imphal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ichelnewsnetwork.com\/index.php\/2025\/11\/26\/regional-training-on-hiv-sentinel-surveillance-launched-at-rims-imphal\/","title":{"rendered":"Regional Training on HIV Sentinel Surveillance Launched at RIMS Imphal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>Regional Institute for HIV Surveillance &amp; Epidemiology (RI-RIMS)<\/strong> today inaugurated a three-day <strong>Regional Training of Trainers (TOT)<\/strong> on <strong>HIV Sentinel Surveillance (HSS-HRG 2026)<\/strong> and the <strong>Integrated Biological and Behavioural Surveillance (IBBS-PLHIV 2026)<\/strong> at Sushruta Hall, RIMS Imphal.<\/p>\n<p>Organised by RI-RIMS in collaboration with the <strong>National AIDS Control Organization (NACO)<\/strong>, Ministry of Health &amp; Family Welfare, the programme will run from <strong>November 26 to 28<\/strong> and aims to strengthen surveillance capacity, improve data quality, and enhance state-level expertise across the North Eastern region. Participants from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are attending the training.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-5966\" src=\"https:\/\/ichelnewsnetwork.com\/Ichel\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/DSC_1220-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p>RIMS Director, Prof. G. Sunil Kumar Sharma, inaugurated the programme as Chief Guest. Prof. Shantibala K., Head of Community Medicine, attended as Guest of Honour, while Prof. H. Rebachandra Singh, Head &amp; Laboratory Director, Microbiology, and Prof. H. Sanayaima Devi, Focal Person, RI-RIMS, presided over the session.<\/p>\n<p>In his inaugural address, the Director highlighted RIMS\u2019 leadership in community medicine, microbiology and HIV research. He stressed the national importance of accurate and ethical HIV surveillance, particularly amid evolving behavioural trends and post-pandemic challenges.
