Khemchand<\/strong> to the relief camp on Monday morning, raising concerns over what it described as an \u201c<strong>opportunistic and misleading<\/strong>\u201d portrayal of the incident by certain media outlets.<\/p>\n<p>According to the statement issued by Lunkhojang Baite, in-charge of the Litan Sareikhong Relief Camp, the visit occurred shortly after 9:30 a.m., at a time when most inmates\u2014primarily men\u2014had left for work, leaving only children, women, and elderly residents inside the camp. The MLA, who was originally scheduled to visit Kamjong, arrived without prior notice and was accompanied by several BJP workers.<\/p>\n<p>The camp alleged that the MLA used the absence of responsible inmates to make an \u201c<strong>uninvited stop<\/strong>,\u201d during which he took photographs with unsuspecting children before hastily departing.<\/p>\n<p>The statement further expressed disappointment over how certain valley-based media outlets allegedly merged footage from two unrelated events\u2014the MLA\u2019s abrupt visit and a separate interview of an internally displaced person (IDP) by an independent journalist\u2014to suggest an interaction between camp residents and the legislator.
