Jairam Ramesh Slams Centre, Says President’s Rule Has Failed in Manipur
Imphal, May 26, 2025 — Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has sharply criticized the Central Government, stating that the imposition of President’s Rule in Manipur has made “no difference whatsoever” to the ongoing crisis in the state. In a tweet posted this evening, Ramesh highlighted the deteriorating security situation, revealing that the Governor of Manipur had to be airlifted by helicopter from Imphal Airport to Kangla Fort to safely reach his residence.
“The Union Home Minister has failed most miserably and should resign for his total failure to bring a semblance of normalcy in Manipur,” Ramesh declared. He further accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of neglecting the state while being preoccupied with delivering “filmi dialogues” across the country and politicising “Operation Sindoor.”
