NMBA Awareness Drive Spreads Anti-Drug Message Across Tipaimukh and Vangai
A series of awareness programmes under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) was organised across various villages in Tipaimukh and Vangai Range Sub-Divisions on Tuesday and Wednesday to spread awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.
The campaign, jointly organised by the District Administration of Pherzawl, District Health Society, and District Social Welfare Office, was held under the theme “Say No to Drugs and Yes to Life.”
Shri Joel G. Haokip, ADC/DSWO of Pherzawl and Nodal Officer of NMBA, led the initiative and appealed to youth to focus on education and skill-building as positive alternatives to drug use. He also urged local leaders and communities to work together to maintain a drug-free environment.
Awareness sessions were held at Patpuihmun, Phulpui, Ngampabung, Thingkal, Kangreng, and Parvachom villages, with participation from nurses, ASHA and Anganwadi workers, and local residents, who collectively pledged to combat drug abuse.
As part of the campaign, Shri Joel G. Haokip also inspected ongoing developmental works and Health Sub-Centres in different parts of the district.
