4-Day Power Outage Cripples Life from Irong Ichin to Moijing Kiyam Leitanpok, Locals Outraged
Residents from Irong Ichin to Moijing Kiyam Leitanpok have been without electricity for the past four days due to a technical failure caused by an insulator puncture in the Moijing Leishangthem Feeder, which is operated by the Leishangthem Power Sub Station.
The prolonged outage has disrupted normal life and sparked widespread anger among locals. Small businesses, students, and households have been hit hard by the continued lack of power.
Thoubalmayum Yasar, who runs a digital-based shop at Mena Bazar, Moijing, said the blackout has brought his operations to a standstill. “Power outages for the last 4 days have paralyzed our business. We’ve made a huge loss. Not being able to maintain and repair the problem for four days is a shame to the officials,” he said.
When contacted by Ichel News Network, an official from the Leishangthem Power Sub Station confirmed that the feeder’s breakdown and stated that repair work is currently underway. However, this has raised further questions from the public—how many days does it take to repair a feeder, and who will compensate for the losses suffered by the people and small businesses?
Without clear answers and a timeline for restoration, public frustration continues to grow.
