6 PARA SF Soldier Jhantu Ali Shaikh Martyred in Udhampur Encounter, Army Pays Tribute
Udhampur | April 25, 2025 — The Indian Army’s White Knight Corps on Thursday paid heartfelt tribute to Havildar Jhantu Ali Shaikh of 6 PARA (Special Forces), who was martyred during a fierce counter-terror operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district.
A native of Patharghata village in West Bengal’s Krishnanagar, Havildar Shaikh sustained critical injuries during the initial exchange of fire with terrorists in the Dudu-Basantgarh area. Despite best efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries.
“#GOC #WhiteKnightCorps and all ranks salute Braveheart Hav Jhantu Ali Shaikh… His indomitable courage will never be forgotten,” the Corps posted on X.
Trinamool Congress MP from Krishnanagar, Mahua Moitra, also expressed condolences on X, calling him a “brave soul” and acknowledging his supreme sacrifice for the nation.
The joint operation with the J&K Police was launched based on specific intelligence. The encounter was still underway at the time of reporting.
