AMMSO Pays Tribute to Manipur Cabin Crew Victims, Calls for Unity and State-Level Condolence
Imphal, June 13, 2025 — The All Manipur Muslim Students’ Organisation (AMMSO) has issued a heartfelt condolence message mourning the tragic deaths of Nganthoi Sharma Khongbrailatpam and Lamnunthem Singson, two daughters of Manipur who lost their lives while serving as cabin crew in a recent air crash.
In a public message, AMMSO expressed profound grief and solidarity with the people of Manipur, emphasizing that the tragedy transcends community lines and serves as a powerful reminder of unity in pain. The organisation highlighted the exemplary lives of the two victims, describing them as symbols of hope, peace, and shared aspirations of Manipur’s youth.
Referred to affectionately as “Thoi and Them,” the two women were remembered for working together and representing the dreams of a united Manipur. Their passing, the message states, should inspire society to rise above conflict and division.
AMMSO has appealed to all communities in Manipur to reflect on the tragedy and to strive for peaceful coexistence. Additionally, the organisation urged the Government of Manipur to organize a state-level condolence program to honour the lives and service of the two victims and promote a message of reconciliation and unity.
The message was signed by AMMSO President Imtiyas Heibokmayum and concluded with a call for harmony and collective healing in Manipur.
