Assam Rifles Destroys Four Acres of Illicit Poppy Cultivation in Churachandpur, Manipur
In a joint operation, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with villagers of Maungzang village, Manipur Police, forest department representatives, and officials from the Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB), successfully destroyed approximately four acres of illegal poppy cultivation in Churachandpur district.
The operation not only targeted illicit cultivation but also focused on community awareness. Villagers were informed about the harmful impact of poppy cultivation on society, the youth, and the environment. Acknowledging these consequences, they appreciated the civil administration’s efforts and pledged to refrain from further plantation in their area.
