DAMMS, MCPCR and DMPAA Mourn the Demise of Alhaj Mohammad Habibur Rahman

Several organisations from Manipur and Delhi have expressed profound grief over the demise of Alhaj Mohammad Habibur Rahman, a respected social worker and community leader from Irong Chesaba Mayai Leikai, Thoubal district. He passed away at the age of 55.

The Delhi Association of Manipur Muslim Students (DAMMS) described him as a visionary leader and the Founding President of the organisation. In its condolence message, DAMMS recalled his “exemplary vision, steadfast dedication, and pioneering leadership,” which shaped the organisation’s foundation. It extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul.

The Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR) also issued a condolence note, acknowledging Rahman’s unwavering dedication and sincerity as a Member of the Commission. The MCPCR stated that his contributions to safeguarding the rights and welfare of children in the state “will always be remembered with deep respect.” The Commission extended condolences to his wife, Smt. Sheikh Hasinah Shah, and daughters, Ms. Husna Rahman and Ms. Hasifa Rahman.

The Delhi Manipuri Pangal Alumni Association (DMPAA) remembered him as a guiding force and an invaluable member of the alumni community. The Association noted that Rahman played a pioneering role in uplifting students and remained deeply committed to community welfare throughout his life. DMPAA highlighted that he was serving as a member of the Manipur State Child Protection Committee at the time of his passing.
