DGAR Hockey Tournament: Women Deliver Thrillers as Men’s Semi-Final Lineup Finalised
The DGAR Hockey Tournament, organised by Assam Rifles, entered a decisive stage on its seventh day at Khuman Lampak Astro Turf Stadium with strong performances in both the women’s and men’s categories.
In the women’s division, South Youth United Club (SYUC) began the day with a solid 3–0 win over United Youth Club (UYC), showcasing disciplined play and attacking control. The second match between Youth Cultural and Community Improvement Centre (YCCIC) and IDEAL turned into a crowd favourite, ending in a 3–3 draw after an intense, fast-paced battle.



In the men’s category, the semi-final lineup was confirmed. Indian Army XI defeated Manipur Police Sports Club (MPSC) 6–4 in a high-speed encounter, while South East Youth Organisation (SEYO) secured a dominant 6–1 win over YCCIC, setting up a high-stakes semi-final clash between Indian Army XI and SEYO.
The tournament continues to draw strong community support and highlights Manipur’s deep-rooted passion for hockey. Assam Rifles stated that it remains committed to encouraging sportsmanship, youth participation and community engagement across the North East.
