Governor Closes 12th Manipur Sangai Festival 2025 at BOAT
The 12th Manipur Sangai Festival 2025 concluded this evening with a grand closing ceremony at the Bhagyachandra Open Air Theatre (BOAT), Imphal, graced by Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla. The festival returned after a two-year break, drawing wide participation over its 10-day celebration themed as the ‘Festival of Oneness.’
Artistes from the Government Dance College opened the ceremony with a choreographic performance promoting unity and showcasing Manipur’s cultural richness.

In his address, the Governor said this year’s festival ended on a strong note of unity and cultural pride despite challenges. He stressed the State Government’s focus on boosting Manipur’s tourism through strategic promotion and major infrastructure projects. He added that the festival served as a key platform connecting tourism stakeholders from across India and abroad.


The Governor also highlighted the wide range of events—from the Sangai Film Festival to traditional sports—that reflected the vibrancy of Manipuri arts, sports, and community life. He thanked all departments and the people of Manipur for their cooperation, noting that collective efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the festival and upheld its message of unity and resilience.


The closing function was attended by the Chief Secretary, Security Advisor, Advocate General, GOC 3 Corps, senior officials of the State Government, and civil, police and military officers, along with members of the public.
