Governor Releases Incentives for Manipuri Pony Owners After Three-Year Gap

In a press release issued by the Governor’s Secretariat, Raj Bhavan, it was announced that Governor of Manipur, Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla, today released incentives to Manipuri Pony owners through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

A total of Rs. 29,99,200 was disbursed under the State Plan fund for 1,150 ponies above six months of age, belonging to 86 pony owners and clubs. This marks the first release of such incentives after a gap of three years.

The scheme aims to support pony owners in supplementing feed for their ponies during the lean period, ensuring better care and preservation of the indigenous Manipuri Pony.

The event was attended by the Chief Secretary, along with the Secretary, Director and officials of the Department of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry.
