Indian Army Felicitates Six Youth from Manipur Selected in RVC Centre & College, Meerut
Imphal, March 28, 2025: In a remarkable achievement, six young boys from Manipur have been selected to join the esteemed Boys Sports Company at Remount Veterinary Corps (RVC) Centre & College, Meerut. These candidates were trained under a special program conducted by the Indian Army, aimed at guiding and preparing youth from Manipur for a career in the prestigious institution.
A total of seven boys from the state participated in the final selection round at Meerut after undergoing rigorous training in the Indian Army’s camp, out of which six secured their positions. To celebrate this significant accomplishment, a felicitation ceremony was held on March 28, 2025, where the Indian Army honored the selected candidates in the presence of their families.
As part of its commitment to youth development and conservation efforts, the Indian Army also handed over 200 microchips and two microchip readers to the Manipur Horse Riding & Polo Association (MHRPA) during the event. These microchips will play a crucial role in tracking and identifying Manipuri ponies, a traditional and indigenous breed of small horses. The initiative will aid in maintaining historical records, medical data, breeding details, and insurance documentation of these ponies, ensuring their better care and conservation.
This noble effort by the Indian Army reflects its dedication not only to empowering the youth of Manipur but also to preserving the rich cultural and ecological heritage of the state. Through such initiatives, the Security Forces continue to bring hope, resilience, and new opportunities to the region.
