JD(U) MLA Mohd Abdul Nasir Reaffirms Support for NDA in Manipur
Mohd Abdul Nasir, the lone Janata Dal (United) MLA in Manipur, has expressed his continued support for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in the state, led by Chief Minister N. Biren Singh.
Clarifying his stance amidst reports of the Manipur JD(U) withdrawing support from the state government, Nasir stated, “I support the NDA and the N. Biren Singh government. The letter issued by the (sacked) state party chief was not discussed with me and reflects his personal opinion, not that of the party.” Â
Emphasizing JD(U)’s position as a national party, Nasir added, “JD(U) is a part of the NDA, and decisions will be made by Nitish Kumar, the national president of the party. I am not aware of the letter, and we will continue to back the NDA government in Manipur.” Â
The statement comes amid internal turmoil within the Manipur unit of JD(U), following actions taken by the party leadership at the state level.
