J&K All-Party Meet Condemns Pahalgam Terror Attack, Hails Martyred Ponywallah as Symbol of Kashmiriyat
Srinagar | April 24, 2025 — An all-party meeting chaired by Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday unanimously condemned the barbaric terror attack in Pahalgam, calling it a “heinous and inhumane” act that strikes at the heart of Kashmiriyat and the idea of India.
The three-hour meeting at SKICC concluded with a joint resolution expressing deep grief and solidarity with the victims, while extending full support to the Centre’s actions to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Reading the resolution, CM Abdullah said, “Such cowardly acts are a direct assault on peace and unity. All parties stand united in supporting the Union government’s steps, including the diplomatic downgrading of ties with Pakistan.”
The meeting also paid tribute to ponywallah Syed Adil Hussain Shah, who was martyred while protecting tourists during the attack. “His bravery is the true face of Kashmiriyat,” Abdullah said.
Leaders from across political lines attended the meeting, including the NC, DPAP, Congress, Apni Party, BJP, JD(U), CPI(M), and others. The resolution also urged protection for Kashmiri students outside the Union Territory amid rising tensions.
The gathering praised the peaceful public response across J&K and reaffirmed collective commitment to peace, constitutional values, and communal harmony.
