Tahamzam, June 2, 2025 — A joint meeting was held today between the Working Committee of the United Naga Council (UNC) and the Sadar Hills Chief Association (SAHILCA) at the UNC Office in Tahamzam, in the presence of the UNC President, to address the April 5, 2025 assault incident involving Konsakhul villagers and Leilon Vaiphei villagers.

The meeting was convened in light of the physical assault on the Konsakhul village chief, secretary, pastor, and others allegedly carried out by individuals from Leilon Vaiphei village, reportedly linked to a land dispute.

In the proceedings, SAHILCA acknowledged full moral responsibility for the incident, expressing regret and issuing a formal apology to the parent body of the Nagas, the United Naga Council. The association also agreed to adhere to the Naga customary ritual and compensate the victims for medical expenses with a sum of ₹1,00,000 to be paid within one week.

Both parties agreed to work toward a permanent resolution of the ongoing land dispute between Konsakhul and Leilon Vaiphei villages. This process will involve tribal customary law under the UNC Working Committee and include community leaders and stakeholders from the concerned villages, SAHILCA, and the Joint Tribe Committee (JTC).
