Keirao MLA Rameshwar Urges Meitei Pangal and Naga Communities to Help Resolve Manipur Crisis
Imphal, March 30: Keirao MLA Lourembam Rameshwar has called on the Meitei Pangal and Naga communities to play an active role in resolving Manipur’s prolonged crisis. Speaking at a grand Iftar event organized by the Keirao Makting Development Committee at KMYC Ground, Keirao Makting Sabal Leikai, he emphasized the need for unity beyond ethnic and religious lines.
Highlighting the importance of fostering love and understanding, Rameshwar urged communities to come together for peace, stating that life is short and should be spent in harmony rather than division. He also praised the discipline observed during Roja (Ramadan fasting) and noted its potential health benefits. Pledging his support for future events, he assured that next year’s Iftar would be even grander.
The MLA also addressed infrastructural improvements in Keirao, stating that roads in the area have been blacktopped. Acknowledging the football talent in the region despite limited facilities, he promised to build a football turf ground before the next assembly elections to support aspiring sportspersons.
Discussing the ongoing crisis in Manipur, Rameshwar pointed out that Meiteis are still unable to visit areas such as Churachandpur, Moreh, and Kangpokpi. He urged the Meitei Pangal and Naga communities to step forward in peace-building efforts and contribute to restoring communal harmony.
The Iftar event brought together people from different communities in Keirao, fostering an atmosphere of love and unity.
