Lamp Lighting and Oath-Taking Ceremony of B.Sc. Nursing Students Held at RIMS, Imphal
The Lamp Lighting and Oath-Taking Ceremony of B.Sc. Nursing students (Batch 2025–26) of the College of Nursing, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, was held today at Jubilee Hall, marking the students’ formal induction into the nursing profession.
Prof. G. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director of RIMS, graced the occasion as Chief Guest, while Prof. A. Debajani Devi, Principal of the College of Nursing, presided over the ceremony. Prof. M. Premjit Singh, Registrar of Manipur University, Prof. L. Rajesh Singh, Dean (Academics), RIMS, and Mrs. N. Ibemhal Devi, Chief Nursing Officer, RIMS Hospital, attended as Guests of Honour.


The ceremony began with the lighting of the inaugural lamp by Prof. Sharma, symbolizing knowledge, compassion, and service. Students took the Florence Nightingale Pledge, reaffirming their dedication to ethical and empathetic care.
In his address, Prof. Sharma highlighted the crucial role of nurses in the healthcare system and praised Manipur’s contribution of skilled nursing professionals serving across India and abroad. He urged the students to uphold integrity and resilience in their service to humanity.
The event was attended by senior RIMS officials, faculty members, and nursing staff.
