Man Arrested with Over 2 Kg of Opium at T. Khullen Naka Checkpost, Senapati District
In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, security forces arrested a man carrying a large quantity of suspected opium at T. Khullen Naka Checkpost in Senapati district. The individual, identified as Ramesh Kumar (35), was intercepted while traveling in a four-wheeler.
Upon searching the vehicle, authorities recovered 2.037 kg of opium, locally known as kani. Additional items seized from Kumar’s possession include a mobile handset, an Aadhaar card, a driving licence, and cash amounting to ₹2,000.
The vehicle used in transporting the contraband has also been confiscated. The arrested individual is currently in police custody for further investigation. Security forces have reiterated their commitment to combating drug trafficking and urged the public to cooperate in reporting suspicious activities.
