Manipur Legislative Assembly Nominates MLA Noorul and MLA Surjakumar to MTU Board of Management

Imphal, May 18, 2025:

The Manipur Legislative Assembly has officially nominated two Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to the Board of Management of Manipur Technical University (MTU), Imphal.

According to a letter issued by the Legislative Assembly Secretariat on May 14, 2025, the nominations were made in response to a request from the university, referenced in letter No. 22/1/2016-MTU dated May 8, 2025.

The two nominated MLAs are:

• 1.  Sheikh Noorul Hassan, MLA of 4-Kshetrigao Assembly Constituency
• 2.  Shri Surjakumar Okram, MLA of 35-Khangabok Assembly Constituency

The letter, signed by Assembly Secretary Rohit Sapam, was addressed to Shri Ramananda Nongmeikapam, Registrar of Manipur Technical University.

This move is expected to strengthen the governance and policy-making of MTU by incorporating experienced legislators into its Board of Management.
