Manipur Police Arrest Three in Connection with Recent Arson Cases

Manipur Police have made three arrests in connection with recent incidents of arson targeting properties of elected representatives and other locations in the state.

In the first case, a juvenile was apprehended in Kakching District on January 27, 2025, in relation to the damage and arson of properties belonging to elected members on November 16, 2024.

In a separate incident, two individuals were arrested for their alleged involvement in an arson attack at Mantripukhri on January 26, 2025. The accused, identified as Rk. Mahesh (50) and Maibam Ishwar Raj (30), were taken into custody from Imphal East District on January 27.

Authorities have stated that further investigations are underway.
