Massive Arms Haul in Manipur: 328 Weapons and Explosives Recovered in Coordinated Valley Raids
Imphal, 14 June 2025 — In a major crackdown on illegal arms, joint teams of the Manipur Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and Army/Assam Rifles conducted simultaneous search operations across five valley districts, recovering a large cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives.
Based on specific intelligence inputs, the raids were carried out during the night of 13 and 14 June 2025. The operation led to the recovery of:
- 328 firearms, including 151 SLR rifles, 65 INSAS rifles, 73 other rifles, 12 LMGs, 6 AK-series rifles, and 1 mortar
- 591 assorted magazines
- Thousands of live rounds, including 3,534 SLR rounds, 2,186 INSAS rounds, 2,252 .303 rounds, and 234 AK rounds
- Explosives, including 10 grenades, 3 Lathodes, 7 detonators, and 3 para bombs
The Manipur Police stated that this operation is a significant success in their ongoing efforts to restore normalcy and public order in the region. Authorities have urged citizens to support their mission by reporting any suspicious activities or information regarding illegal weapons to the nearest police station or control room.
