A press conference on the forthcoming Sardar@150 Unity March was held today at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Kakching, organised by the District Administration, Kakching, in collaboration with Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat), Thoubal.

Addressing the media, Additional Deputy Commissioner P. Shantikumar informed that all preparations for the campaign have been completed. The event, commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, will continue till December 6, 2025, featuring district-level competitions such as quizzes, essays, debates, and poster-making for students. He encouraged public participation through registration on http://www.mybharat.gov.in

Shri L. Marjitkumar, State Director of MY Bharat Manipur, stated that the campaign was digitally launched by Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya on October 6, 2025, and is being conducted across all districts in two phases—pre-event competitions followed by the Unity March. He urged students and youth to actively take part in the nationwide initiative.

The event was attended by W. Paulina Monsang, Deputy Director, MY Bharat Thoubal; Okram Sandhyarani, AC to DC Kakching; Shri L. Shankerjit, Additional SP (LO); Ksh. Indubala, Convenor of MY Bharat Kakching; and other district officials.

Meanwhile, a separate vegetable seed distribution programme under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) 2025–26 was held at the DC Office Complex, Kakching. The initiative, aimed at boosting vegetable production and farmer income, was organised by the Horticulture & Soil Conservation Department under the supervision of the District Administration, Kakching.

ADM P. Shantikumar and Ex-Officio Project Officer Kh. Malemnganba Meitei attended the programme, where seeds were distributed to 40 of the 178 approved beneficiaries. The remaining farmers will collect their seeds from the District Officer’s office in Thoubal during office hours in the coming days.
