Sheikh Noorul Hassan Appointed NPP Manipur Legislative Party Leader

National People’s Party (NPP) has appointed Sheikh Noorul Hassan as the new leader of the legislative party in Manipur following the untimely demise of NPP Manipur Legislative Party leader N. Kayisii. The announcement was made by NPP National President Conrad K. Sangma, who confirmed the appointment for necessary action.

Sheikh Noorul Hassan, a seasoned politician from Manipur, currently represents Kshetrigao Assembly Constituency as an MLA. He secured his seat in the Manipur Legislative Assembly on an NPP ticket after defeating BJP MLA Nahakpam Indrajit Singh in the 2022 elections. Hassan served as the General Secretary (Organisation) of NPP Manipur State. Now he is working president of NPP state unit and Nation Secretary (Political Affairs), playing a key role in strengthening the party’s presence in the region.

Beyond politics, Sheikh Noorul Hassan has been actively engaged in various social initiatives. In April 2022, he launched the Sheikh Noorul Hassan Health Protection Mission, aimed at providing healthcare assistance to underprivileged families in Kshetrigao AC. Additionally, in September 2021, he facilitated monthly pension distributions for 84 differently-abled individuals in his constituency, demonstrating his commitment to social welfare.

His appointment as the leader of the NPP Legislative Party is expected to bring strong leadership and focused governance, ensuring the continued growth and development of both the party and the state of Manipur.
