Two Active KCP (PWG) Cadres Arrested by Security Forces in Thoubal and Imphal East

Thoubal, April 4, 2025: In a major crackdown on militant activities, security forces arrested two active cadres of the proscribed outfit KCP (PWG) from Thoubal and Imphal East districts for their involvement in extortion-related activities.

The first arrest was made at Khongjom Khebaching area under Khongjom Police Station, Thoubal District, where Ahongsangbam Naobi Singh (42), a resident of Khongjom Kheba Ching, was apprehended. He was found involved in extorting money from locals in the Khongjom area. During the operation, the security forces recovered one M20 pistol with a magazine and two live rounds, one mobile phone with two SIM cards, and a two-wheeler from his possession.

Following the initial arrest, a follow-up operation was conducted, leading to the arrest of another active cadre of KCP (PWG), identified as Maibam Tomba Singh alias Loya (42), originally from Tentha Khunjao, Thoubal District, and currently residing at Khurai Kongpal Laishram Leikai under Porompat Police Station, Imphal East District. He was arrested from his residence, and the security forces seized one 9mm pistol with a magazine and six live rounds, along with two mobile phones containing two SIM cards.
