Two Teachers Arrested for Assaulting Police, Vandalizing School After Class X Exam in Thoubal

Thoubal Police have arrested two teachers for allegedly assaulting police personnel on duty, vandalizing school property, and injuring staff members at Ever Green Flower School, Thoubal Ningombam. The incident occurred around 12:13 PM on Friday, just after the conclusion of the Class X examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM).

According to a statement from Manipur Police, the accused—identified as Thangjam Subachandra Singh, 35, of Chanam Santrok, Imphal East, and Sorokhaibam Ningthem Meitei, 35, of Nambol Phoijing Awang—are teaching staff at KM Blooming Higher Secondary School, Khangabok. They were taken into custody by Thoubal Police Station for further legal proceedings.

Authorities are investigating the motive behind the attack and assessing the extent of damages caused to the school property. The police have assured that necessary action will be taken against those responsible.
