Yumnam Joykumar Confirms Resolution on Sheikh Noorul Hassan’s Statement, Says Understanding Has Been Reached
The National People’s Party (NPP) has resolved any internal misunderstandings regarding Sheikh Noorul Hassan’s recent statement on supporting the BJP government, confirmed NPP Manipur President Yumnam Joykumar in an exclusive conversation with Ichel News Network.
Following the resignation of Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, Sheikh Noorul Hassan, NPP’s Working President and MLA, had publicly expressed his stance on extending support to the BJP-led government. His statement sparked internal discussions within the party, leading to an explanation call. However, Y Joykumar has now clarified that the issue has been addressed and a mutual understanding has been reached.
“We had a thorough discussion and have resolved any differences. Sheikh Noorul Hassan’s statement was based on his political assessment, and we acknowledge his perspective. The party stands united, and there is no further confusion,” said Y Joykumar.
Regarding NPP’s official position on government formation, Joykumar reiterated that the party would closely monitor developments within the BJP before making any final decision. “We are carefully observing the situation and will consult our national leadership before taking a stand,” he added.
Meanwhile, on the political front, Sheikh Noorul Hassan met with BJP’s national spokesperson and Northeast coordinator, Sambit Patra today at Hotel Imphal. The meeting has sparked further speculation about the evolving political scenario in Manipur and the possible role of NPP in the new government.
With political uncertainty in Manipur following Biren Singh’s resignation, NPP remains neutral for now, waiting for further clarity within the BJP before making a final call. The party also reassured that there are no internal conflicts, reaffirming its commitment to a united and strategic approach.
