Security Forces Actively Assist in Flood Relief Operations Across Imphal Valley: Manipur Police
In the wake of the ongoing flood situation across Imphal Valley, multiple security agencies including Manipur Police, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Manipur Fire Service, Assam Rifles, and the Indian Army have been pressed into action to support civil authorities in flood control and rescue operations.
According to a statement issued by Manipur Police, the joint efforts of these security forces have been crucial in reinforcing embankments at several vulnerable points to prevent further inundation of residential and low-lying areas. Rescue teams have also been mobilized extensively across flood-hit zones, particularly in Imphal East District.
“Several stranded residents, including minors and senior citizens, have been successfully evacuated and shifted to safer locations,” the statement said. The evacuation operations were conducted under challenging conditions, with rescue personnel navigating submerged roads and rising water levels to reach those in need.
The police also appealed to the public to cooperate with authorities and follow safety advisories issued during this period. Relief measures are ongoing, and authorities continue to monitor water levels and weather forecasts closely.
