Two KCP (PWG) Members Arrested in Imphal for Extortion Activities

In a major crackdown on extortion activities, the Manipur Police arrested two active members of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (Progressive Wing Group) [KCP (PWG)] from Uripok Mayai Leikai near Machang Bakery Shop in Imphal West District.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Khangembam Sanaton Singh, also known as Sanatomba or Loya (51), and Thokchom Tiken Singh, alias Ibungo (43). According to police reports, the duo was involved in extortion operations targeting various shops and showrooms in and around Imphal.

During the arrest, the police seized several items, including four mobile handsets with corresponding SIM cards, a side bag, two wallets, two Aadhaar cards, a four-wheeler vehicle, and cash amounting to ₹5,140.

Authorities have confirmed that further investigations are underway to trace the network and activities of the group.
