Manipur Government Urges Citizens to Stay Vigilant Against Misinformation

The Government of Manipur has issued an appeal to all citizens to remain calm and not fall prey to unverified news, rumors, or misinformation that could disrupt peace and harmony in the state. The advisory comes in response to recent instances of misleading information being circulated through various channels, causing confusion and unrest.

In an official statement, the government warned that certain individuals and groups may be deliberately attempting to incite unrest and spread fear through false narratives and inflammatory content. Citizens have been urged to refrain from sharing or believing unverified news that could create lawlessness.

The government emphasized that maintaining peace and law and order is a collective responsibility. It assured strict action against those attempting to incite violence or disrupt harmony. Community leaders, civil society organizations, religious leaders, student organizations, and intellectuals have been urged to come together to foster unity and rebuild trust among all communities.

The Chief Secretary of Manipur, P.K. Singh, reiterated the importance of prioritizing peace, understanding, and development for the betterment of the state. Citizens are encouraged to stay vigilant and report any misleading information to the authorities.
