Manipur Police Promotes Youth Development Through Sports Initiatives

Director General of Police, Manipur, Shri Rajiv Singh, IPS, reaffirmed Manipur Police’s commitment to youth development through sports while inaugurating the 4th Master Boys and Girls Boxing Championship and the 1st State Level Blue Cubs Baby League at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex.

Recognizing Manipur’s rich sporting legacy, the DGP emphasized the importance of nurturing young talent, instilling discipline, and fostering aspirations from an early age. He lauded the efforts of organizers, sponsors, and volunteers in providing a platform for budding athletes to showcase their skills.

Highlighting the transformative role of sports, Shri Rajiv Singh noted that it not only builds character but also bridges communities and guides youth towards positive engagements. Under the motto “Catch Them Young,” he reiterated Manipur Police’s dedication to ensuring opportunities for children to excel in sports.

In his address, the DGP also made an appeal to misguided youths involved in anti-social activities, urging them to embrace sports as a constructive alternative. He encouraged participants to compete with integrity and passion, acknowledging the role of coaches and parents in supporting young athletes.

Concluding his speech, he called for a collective celebration of sports and excellence before officially declaring the championship and league open.
