Arjuna Awardee Naorem Roshibina Devi Appointed as DSP (Sports) in Manipur Police

Imphal, 26 March 2025:

In a proud moment for the sporting community of Manipur, Governor Shri Ajay Kumar Bhalla today handed over the official appointment letter to Arjuna Awardee and renowned Wushu athlete, Ms. Naorem Roshibina Devi, appointing her as Deputy Superintendent of Police (Sports) in the Manipur Police.

Ms. Roshibina Devi, who has brought laurels to the state and the nation with her stellar performances in the Asian Games as well as various national and international Wushu tournaments, was recognized for her outstanding contributions to sports and her role as a role model for the youth of Manipur.

The Government of Manipur, in acknowledgment of her achievements and inspirational journey, made the decision to induct her into the police force under the sports quota.

During the ceremony at Raj Bhavan, Governor Bhalla congratulated Roshibina Devi on her new role and lauded her for her dedication, discipline, and perseverance. He wished her continued success both in her sporting career and her new responsibilities in public service.

The appointment has been widely hailed as a step forward in promoting sports and recognizing sporting talents in the state.
